William Warren Watson

William ‘Wild Bill’ Warren Watson, 68 of Niles passed away at his home after a long and courageous fight with cancer.
Bill was born on December 24, 1948 to the late Warren C and Ruth H. (Zerr) Watson. On July 3, 1971 he married Sherry Simpson who survives. He is also survived by his two sons, Troy (Jerrold M Scott) Watson of Shaker Heights, OH and Toby Shane (Natalie) Watson of Edwardsburg, his sister Susan (Larry) Degraff, Stephen (Debbie) Watson, Thomas Watson, Nicholas Watson and Warren (Darlene)Watson all of Niles. He is also survived by his many nieces and nephews who he dearly loved.
Bill lived most of his life in the Niles area. He honorably served in the Army during the Vietnam War, where he obtained the rank of Sergeant. Bill worked for Wolverine Pipeline as a Station Operator where he retired after 30 years.
Bill enjoyed hunting, fishing and had a love of nature. He enjoyed going up to the UP of Michigan deer hunting. Bill was an amazing cook who could duplicate and perfect almost any recipe. Bill was someone who was well liked by all who met him.
Keeping with Bill’s wishes, cremation has taken place.
The family will receive friends and family on Tuesday, September 5, from 6pm - 8pm at Halbritter Wickens Funeral Home 615 E. Main St. Niles, MI.
A celebration of Bill’s life will be on Wednesday, September 6 at 11:00 am in the funeral home.
