Willadean Kayser

Willadean Kayser, 93 of Niles died on Wednesday, December 31, 2014 at Memorial Hospital following an extended illness.
Born on September 13, 1921 in Niles to William and Amy (Harrold) Linn, she graduated from Niles H.S. and has lived here most of her life. She managed Smith Lake Resort for many years.
Willie was a member of the Howard Township Conservation Club. She played on one of the early Women’s Softball leagues, bowled on area leagues, and enjoyed hunting and fishing.
On April 8, 1942 in Niles she married Roland N. “Rollie” Kayser who preceded her in death on March 29, 2000. She was also preceded in death by sisters, Marian Moot and Betty Kissinger and brother, Walter Linn.
Surviving family includes a sister, Katherine Butterworth and brother, Franklin “Bud” Linn, both of Niles and many nieces and nephews including Sharon (& Donald) Syson of Niles and their son, David A. (& Amy) Syson and his twins Adyson and Braxton, and Sharon’s daughter, Vicki L. (& Craig) Nihart.
The funeral service for Willadean Kayser will be at 11:00 a.m. Monday, January 5, 2015 at the Halbritter Funeral Home in Niles with Pastor Jeff Whittaker of Michiana Christian Embassy officiating. Friends may call beginning at 10:00 a.m. Contributions may be made to The Center for Hospice Care.
