Wendy Sue Thurston-Rose, age 48 years of Niles, Michigan died unexpectedly Tuesday night, October 25, 2016 of natural causes, at her home.
She was born on July 22, 1968 in Niles to Jerry Lee and Barbara Jean (Phillips) Thurston. She was graduated from Brandywine High School, and has lived here all of her life. She was currently employed at Christianson Industries in Edwardsburg, Michigan and had been previously employed at Bodek & Rhodes in Niles.
Wendy was a member of Niles Lodge #978 of the Loyal Order of Moose where she often enjoyed the fellowship of friends. She played in area dart leagues and softball leagues. She enjoyed being outdoors, especially camping at Melville’s 7 Lakes Family Campground near Marcellus, Michigan.
She was preceded in death by her mother, Barbara J. Thurston on June 20 th of this year.
Surviving family includes her children, William (& Sueann Stroud) Rose of Benton Harbor, Michigan and Jean Thurston of Niles; a grandson, Daniel Lee Wade Rose; Wendy’s father, Jerry Lee Thurston of Niles; and her siblings, Jerry Thurston of Sarasota, Florida, Thomas (& Beth) Thurston of Elkhart, Indiana, Donna (& James) Maxey of South Bend, Indiana, Hope Flint of Florida, Carmen (& Todd) Leopold of South Bend, and Lea (& Mark Snyder) Held of Niles; and many nieces and nephews, aunts, uncles, and cousins.
The funeral service for Wendy Thurston-Rose will be at 3:00 p.m. on Saturday, October 29, 2016 at the Halbritter Funeral Home in Niles with Pastor David Moore of Make A Difference Ministries officiating. The family will receive relatives and friends beginning at 2:00 p.m. on Saturday.
