Warren "Zeke" Donald Hand

Warren “Zeke” Donald Hand, 87, of Niles, died peacefully, Wednesday, March 12, 2025.

His life began February 3, 1938 in Sumnerville, the fourth of five children born to Pat and Tillie Hand. He married Rosa Rocha, November 10, 1962. She survives.

Zeke graduated from Niles High School in 1956. He served his country in the National Guard and Army Reserve from 1956 to 1962. Zeke helped his father run Hand’s Gulf Service on Warren Road and M-51. He retired from the waste water treatment plant in Niles in 2000, serving the city of Niles for over twenty years. Zeke and Rosa enjoyed spending time riding their Harley together and with other couples. They could often be found at different riding events like, hill climbs, poker runs and other events like ABATE. Together they also enjoyed attending baseball games, especially the Detroit Tigers. Zeke was also a U of M football fan and enjoyed golfing at Hampshire Country Club and other local clubs.

He will be greatly missed by family and friends. He is survived by his wife Rosa Hand; daughter, Tina (Nathan) Joossens of Edwardsburg; and a host of nieces and nephews. He was preceded in death by his parents; his siblings, Audrey Skelton, Jack Hand, Gerald “Chub” Hand and Judith Hand. The family will observe a private remembrance.
