Vivian J. Moore, age 89 years of Niles, Michigan died at 12:25 p.m. on Tuesday, April 30, 2013 at Brentwood Assisted Living in Niles following a brief illness.
She was born on April 18, 1924 in Chicago, Illinois to Sidney and Winnifred (Wearne) Laws. She was graduated from high school in Chicago, and has lived in this area since 1950. She was first employed at Michigan Bell, and later at Simplicity Pattern Company, the former J.C.Penney store in downtown Niles, and Brandywine Public Schools.
Vivian was a talented seamstress, enjoying tailoring clothing for her family. As a younger lady, she and her husband enjoyed square dancing.
On September 28, 1945 in Dowagiac, Michigan she married Howard Moore with whom she had celebrated the fifty-first anniversary of their wedding prior to his death on August 23, 1997. They were also preceded in death by two grandchildren, Christopher Parker and Carrie Wallace, and by Vivian’s brother, Leroy Laws.
Surviving family includes their children, Margaret W. (& Al) Parker of Columbia, South Carolina, Valerie J. Kraemer of Clawson, Michigan, and Diana M. (& Darryl) Everman of Niles; grandchildren Rick (& Tina) Parker, Matthew (& Becky) Kraemer, and Michelle (& Chris Helm) Kraemer; great-grandchildren Tesla, Amber, Richard II, Julia, Kinnan, Kendall, Hesston, and Huntter; a great-great-grandson, Zachary; Vivian’s sister-in-law, Violet (Mrs. Leroy) Laws of Virginia, and several nieces and nephews.
The family of Vivian Moore will gather privately at her graveside in Roseland Park Cemetery in Royal Oak, Michigan. Contributions in memory of Vivian may be made to the Alzheimer’s Association, 225 North Michigan Avenue, Chicago, Illinois 60601.
