Trent Califf

Trent Dick Califf, age 50 of Niles, Michigan died on Thursday, October 8, 2015 at his home unexpectedly, but of natural causes. Trent was born December 15, 1964 in Niles to Richard Califf and Linda (Laudenslager) Monica.

Trent was a 1982 graduate of Niles High School and has worked as a meat cutter at the local Martin’s Super Markets in for 18 years, receiving a special award for his commitment and service to the company and the community. Trent enjoyed hunting and taking trips to the family cabin in Luther, Michigan. His true passion was Michigan sports: he was a huge fan of the University of Michigan football, the Detroit Lions and the Detroit Tigers.

Trent is survived by his three daughters, Amber (& James) Califf of South Bend, Breanna Califf and Hannah Califf, both of Niles; five grandchildren, Braden, Logan, Kaden, Laila and Lenox; father, Richard (& fiancée Sally Clevenger) Califf of Luther, Michigan, mother Linda Monica, a brother, Ty (& Jerri) Califf and a sister, Terri Musgrave, all of Niles.

The funeral service for Trent Dick Califf will be held at 6:00p.m. on Wednesday, October 14, 2015 at the Halbritter Funeral Home with Pastor Carl Adams of the United Pentecostal Church, Niles officiating.

The family will receive relatives and friends on Wednesday at the funeral home from 4:00p.m. until the time of service. Those attending are encouraged to wear their favorite maize and blue Michigan University attire in Trent’s honor.

Donations in memory of Trent may be made to the Salvation Army.
