Timothy L. Kalin, age 52 years of South Thirteenth Street in Niles, Michigan died on Sunday, January 27, 2013 at his home of natural causes.
He was born on September 9, 1960 in Niles to Frank L. and Alberta J. (Volker) Kalin, and was graduated from Brandywine High School. He moved to Portland, Oregon and was employed by The Boeing Company for eighteen years. He returned to Niles last year.
Tim enjoyed living on the west coast. He also enjoyed fishing, hiking in the woods, and mushroom hunting. He collected Hot Wheels model cars, some antiques, and attended garage sales.
On August 18, 2007 in Portland he married Billie Thoma who survives. Also surviving are his children, Jodi Kalin of Niles, Timothy (& Nevada) Kalin of Washington, and Benjamin Kalin of Oregon; grandchildren including Alex and Austin; Tim’s father, Frank Kalin (& Dallis McNeil)of Niles; and sister and brothers, Cheryl Lynn (& Mike) Gray of Portland, Keith L. (& Deborah) Kalin of Niles, Gregory L. (& Linda Sarratore) Kalin of Niles, and Jeffery L. (& Carolyn) Kalin of Niles; and several nieces and nephews.
Services for Timothy Kalin will be at 2:00 p.m. on Thursday, January 31, 2013 at the Halbritter Funeral Home in Niles with the Rev. Randy Pearman of Bethel Baptist Church in Niles officiating. The family will receive relatives and friends at the funeral home beginning at 1:00 p.m. on Thursday.
