Stanley Williams

Stanley Alan Williams, 72, passed away at 7:25pm on Thursday, June 22, 2017 in Northwestern Medical Center in Chicago, IL.

Stanley was born on November 30, 1944 in Patterson, New Jersey to Bennyjoe M. and Irene M. (Saxton) Williams. Stanley’s father, Bennyjoe passed away on July 3, 1989.

On June 21, 1974, Stanley married Sue Ann (Denaway). She survives along with Stanley’s mother, Irene; daughter, Amy Cavanaugh; son, John M. (Maryjo) Williams; grandchildren, Lindsay, Madison, Peyton Cavanaugh, Logan and Lane Williams, and Gavin Morales; siblings, Dale (Kathy) Williams, Sandy Williams, Scott (Connie) Williams, Diane (Fred) Rodgers, Melissa (Ralph) Pletcher, and Bruce (Shelley) Williams

Stanley honorably served his country as an instructor in a Mine Warfare School for the US Navy during the Vietnam War. He retired after 34 years as a service tech from Montgomery Ward. If there was no snow on the golf course, Stanley was there playing golf with his buddies. He also enjoyed hunting, fishing and guns. He could be found many nights in the bleachers watching his grandchildren as they participated in sports.

A Memorial Service will be celebrated at 11am on Wednesday, June 28, 2017 in Trinity Episcopal Church 9 S. 4th St, in Niles where family and friends may gather one hour prior to the Service. The US Navy and American Legion Post 51 will provide Stanley with Military Honors following the Service at the Church. Then a luncheon will follow in the Parish Hall. HALBRITTER WICKENS FUNERAL HOME is assisting the family with arrangements.
