Shirley Hahn

Shirley M. Hahn, 93 of Niles, passed away on Sunday, May 17 in Riveridge Manor.

Shirley was born on November 27, 1926 in Juneau, WI to the late Everest and Eva Hering.

She is also preceded in death by her brother Don Hering.

Shirley grew up in Milwaukee, WI and on a visit to Bridgeman, MI met her future husband, Robert J. Hahn.  They were married on December 31, 1945.  She and Robert had two children, Wayne (Sue) Hahn of Union Pier, MI and Sandra (Pete) Lanners of Zion, IL.  She also has 5 grandchildren, 4 great grand children.

In 1970 they moved to Niles.  Robert passed away on March 6, 1984.  Shirley stayed in Niles and joined Holy Trinity Lutheran Church.  She enjoyed helping out at church.  She also loved crafts, cross stitch and making cards. Shirley wrote poetry and worked on the church Newsletter for many years. Shirley had great love and pride for her children.  She considered them her blessings.

Arrangements have been made at Halbritter Wickens Funeral Home 615 E. Main St. Niles.

Memorial contributions in Shirley’s name may be made to Holy Trinity Lutheran Church 1819 Oak St. Niles, MI 49120.

Services will be on Thursday, June 25, 2020 at 1:30 pm at Graceland Cemetery in Bridgman, MI.
