Ronald Sandburg

Ronald Kenneth Sandburg, 89 of Niles, passed away after an illness in St. Joseph Regional Medical Center in Mishawaka on December 10, 2021.

Ron was born on November 11, 1932 in  Hinckley, MN in the home of to the late Sam and Ellen Sanburg. He is also preceded in death by his daughter, Sherry Ruth Sandburg in 2004. His siblings in the home he grew up in are Mabel Lloyd, Alice Lloyd, Ethel Trap, Russell Sanburg, Ruth Rabe, and June Sanburg.

In 1954 Ron married Bonnie Josephine Lynch who survives.

Together they had celebrated 67 years of marriage.

Left to cherish his memory are his grandchildren, Gloria Rose Sheree’ Reynolds and Benjamin Michael Sandburg Miller and former son-in-law Jim (& Melinda) Miller along with many friends and family.

Ron honorably served in the United States Air Force for 20 years.  He then worked for Northern Electric Company as a Salesman for 20 years.

Ron was an accomplished artist who enjoyed painting nature and landscapes. He was also a talented singer. Ron and Bonnie loved to travel together in their motorhome.

A Funeral Service for Ron will be held at a later date with Military Honors.

Burial took place at Smith Chapel Cemetery in Niles, MI.
