Richard Motuelle

Richard G. Motuelle, age 67 years old of Niles, Michigan died at 11:39 a.m. on Saturday, December 28, 2013 at Parkview LaGrange Hospital in LaGrange, Indiana unexpectedly but of natural causes.

He was born on May 10, 1946 in Paw Paw, Michigan to Fred A. and Elsie L. (Sherman) Motuelle. He was graduated from Brandywine High School in Niles, and attended Ivy Tech Community College earning certification as a Machinery Repair Journeyman. He was employed for twenty-three years at the Bendix Corporation. He also owned and operated over-the-road trucks, and was a licensed building contractor.

Richard attended the First Missionary Church, and was a former member of Hope Community Church. He volunteered with Luvability Ministries which provides Christian opportunities for persons with developmental disabilities, and enjoyed farming the acres around his house.

On January 8, 1965 at First Missionary Church in Niles he married the former Barbara J. Mitchell with whom he celebrated the forty-eighth anniversary of their wedding.

He is survived by his wife, Barbara Motuelle and by their children, Tammi (& Chad) Meister of Granger, Indiana and Todd (& Cindy) Motuelle of Niles; grandchildren Ryan (& Noelle) Motuelle of Niles, Ashley (& Jason) Karaman of Woodstock, Georgia, and Justin and Joshua Meister of Granger; and by Richard’s
brother, Walter (& Lucille) Motuelle of Moulton, Alabama.

Services for Richard Motuelle in celebration of his life will be at 3:00 p.m. on Saturday, January 11, 2014 at the South Bend First Church of the Nazarene, 51690 Ironwood Road, north of Auten Road. Contributions in memory of Richard may be made to Luvability Ministries.
