Richard Hover

Richard Allen Hover, age 58 years of Niles, Michigan died at 12:38 p.m. on Saturday, May 28, 2016 at this home of natural causes.

He was born on September 18, 1957 in Heidelberg, Germany to Jerry Lee and Sonja Eileen (Troyer) Hover. He was graduated from Brandywine High School and has lived in Niles most of his life. He was employed for many years at the former Hover Trucking in Niles, and was currently employed at Five Star Sheets, LLC in New Carlisle, Indiana.

Rick was a member of the Sons of the American Legion Post #365 in Edwardsburg, Michigan. He enjoyed nature, fishing in area lakes and camping at Lakeside Campground near Jones, Michigan. He will be well remembered for his sense of humor, and for his faithful companion dog, Max.

On October 29, 2010 in Niles he married the former Lori Ann Everman, who survives. Also surviving are his daughter, Alexandra Hover of Nebraska, and Lori’s son, Justin (& Tessia Burr) Cooper, grandchildren Brantley Cooper, Savana Cooper, Keisha Burr, and Adriana Burr; Rick’s parents, Sonja Hover of Niles and Jerry Hover of Niles; Lori’s parents, Pat & Ralph Everman of Niles; and Rick’s siblings, James Hover of Niles, Steven Hover of Kincheloe, Michigan, and Pamela Ann Ross of Houston, Texas; and several nieces and nephews.

The funeral service for Richard A. Hover will be at 11:00 a.m. on Friday, June 3, 2016 at the Halbritter Funeral Home in Niles with the Rev. Fran Lane-Lawrence of the First Presbyterian Church in Niles officiating.

The family will receive relatives and friends on Thursday from 6:00 p.m. until 8:00 p.m. at the funeral home. Contributions in memory of Rick may be made to the Humane Society of Southwest Michigan.
