Richard Neil Hart, Sr., age 81 years of Niles, Michigan died at 7:03 p.m. on Thursday, November 3, 2016 at Lakeland Medical Center in Saint Joseph, Michigan following an extended illness.
He was born on December 22, 1934 at home on Cherry Street in Niles to Cecil Soverign and Bessie (Fulkerth) Hart. He attended Niles Community Schools, and enlisted in the United States Army, serving during the Korean Conflict. He was retired from Niles Steel Tank, and has lived in Niles all of his life.
Richard enjoyed remodeling various portions of his home. He also enjoyed fishing.
Surviving family includes his children, Richard (& Nancy) Hart, Jr. of Niles, Carmen Fester-Hart, Russell Hart of Niles, Jennifer (& Marc) Hart of Findlay, Ohio, and Stanley Hart of Cassopolis, Michigan; grandchildren Rishia (& Patrick Farr) Langelan, Nathan Langelan, Brian Lee, Jr., Tracy Sallee, Jr., and Jordan Sallee; great-grandchildren Tayla Lane and Natalie Langelan. Richard was also one of seven siblings including Cecil, Jr., William, John Fannie, Dorothy, and Dora.
