Niles - SK1 Phillip Mills, US Navy Retired, 75, passed away at 9:28am on Thursday, My 10, 2018 in his home.

Phillip was born on June 19, 1942 in Niles to the late, Walter M. and Anna M. (Britton) Mills. Phillip was also preceded in death by a brother, David.

Phillip is survived by his son, Phillip Richard (Amanda) Mills; grandchildren, Joshua Mills, Karlie Mills, Nicholas Mills, Caleb Mills, Mitchell Dehn, Drew Racht, and Morgan Racht; great-grandchild, Kadence Mills; brothers, Walter (Ruth Ann) Mills, Jr. Phillip Mills, Robert (Mary) Mills, Arthur (Melody) Mills, Michael (Judy) Mills, and sisters, Ruth Ann (Alejandro) Rodriguez, and Rose (Clarence) Blakley.

Phillip honorably served his country in the United States Navy during the Vietnam War. He was very active with the Salvation Army here in Niles. He enjoyed sports especially the Cubs, Tigers and Notre Dame. He cared and loved his dog, Buddy who passed away just a week before Phillip.

Family and friends will gather to remember Phillip at a Memorial Service at 6:30pm on Saturday, May 12, 2018 in the Salvation Army building in Niles.
