Peggy Lee Ellerbrook, age 57 years of South Bend, Indiana and former long-time resident of Niles, Michigan died on Sunday, April 26, 2015 at Hospice House in Elkhart, Indiana following a brief illness.
She was born on July 13, 1957 in Niles to Orin and Erma Mae (Andrews) Ellerbrook. She was graduated from Niles High School, and the Vogue Beauty School in South Bend. She was employed for many years at the Michael & Co. Salon in Mishawaka, Indiana before opening her own salon, The Color Room in Mishawaka.
Peggy attended the First Presbyterian Church in Niles. She enjoyed traveling throughout the United States and Canada, had hiked extensively including the Grand Canyon and Alaska, and often enjoyed camping. She had also practiced some extreme sports including white water rafting, rappelling, and kayaking. At home she enjoyed caring for her flower gardens.
She was preceded in death by her parents, Orin and Erma Ellerbrook, by a brother, Duane Ellerbrook, and a friend, Edna Albright.
Surviving family includes her sisters, Barbara Ellerbrook of Niles and Mary Ritchie of Buchanan, Michigan and brothers, William (& Connie) Ellerbrook of Dowagiac, Michigan and Kevin (& Ruth) Ellerbrook of Benton Harbor, Michigan; many nieces and nephews; her companion, Chuck Arnold; and a wonderful circle of friends including Karol Good, Sue Farrington, and Jeanine Pointer.
Services for Peggy Ellerbrook will be at 11:00 a.m. on Saturday, May 23, 2015 at the First Presbyterian Church with the Rev. Fran Lane-Lawrence of the church officiating. Committal will be in the churchs columbarium.
The family will receive relatives and friends beginning at 10:00 a.m. Saturday at the church. Contributions in memory of Peggy may be made to The Foundation of the First Presbyterian Church, or to the American Cancer Society... Arrangements were made at the Halbritter Funeral Home in Niles.
