Patricia J. Mione Marlin, age 77 years of Niles, Michigan died at 10:00 a.m. on Saturday, April 5, 2014 at her home following an extended illness.

She was born on September 5, 1936 in Chicago, Illinois to Albert R. and LaVon Josephine (Willis) Mione. She attended school in Chicago until moving with her family to Niles in 1949 and attending school here. She was employed for thirty years at the former Simplicity Pattern Company plant in Niles.

Patt enjoyed cooking for her family, working on the computer with an active internet presence on Facebook, and reading a wide variety of subjects. Her greatest joy was her family, and her pet cat, “Li’l L”.

On September 4, 1954 in Niles she married E. Lloyd Marlin, Sr. with whom she celebrated the forty-ninth anniversary of their wedding prior to his death on November 1, 2003. She was also preceded in death by her parents, Al and LaVon Mione; a grandson, Jason Cox; and her sister, Marietta Camp, brother Keith Mione, and a baby sister, Dena.

Surviving family includes her son, Ed (& Cassandra) Marlin, Jr. of Niles; grandchildren Wesley (& Libbie) Bishop, Bradley Cox, Aaron (& Tara) Cox, Gary (& Sarah) Okerbloom, and Trisha Marlin; great-grandchildren Oliver Bishop, Bradley, Logan, and Katlyn Cox, Joseph Cox, Ryan Cox, and Brady and J.C. Okerbloom; and Patt’s sisters, Jacki (& Jerry) Quick of Tennessee, Willi (& Cliff) Slocum of Michigan, brother Richard (& Kathy) Mione of North Carolina; and many nieces and nephews.

The family of Patt Mione Marlin will be gathering privately.

Contributions in memory of Patt may be made to the Niles District Library, or to Hospice at Home. Arrangements were made at the Halbritter Funeral Home in Niles.
