Patrick Joseph Fisher, age 55 years of Niles, Michigan; husband, father, friend, traveler, and Boilermaker fan died unexpectedly on Saturday, April 20, 2024 of natural causes.
He was born on January 31, 1969 in Kalamazoo, Michigan and was the son of Paul L. and Martha E. (Schloerke) Fisher. He was graduated with the class of 1987 from Niles High School, and continued his education at Southwestern Michigan College, earning an Associates degree in Electronics. He was employed for many years in the former Niles plant of Tyler Refrigeration as a press brake operator. Following the closure of the plant, he was employed at the new South Bend plant of General Stamping and Metalworks. He has lived in Niles all of his life.
Patrick was a great fan of the Purdue University Boilermakers – of which his mother was an alumna – and had attended some tournament events for various sports. He was also a great fan of “America’s Team”: the Dallas Cowboys football team, and of the Houston Astros, having attended a collegiate tournament in their home stadium, the former Astrodome. He enjoyed traveling with his family, mostly in the eastern United States, including Florida and The Outer Banks of North Carolina. They had also recently toured South Dakota, including Mount Rushmore. As a younger man, he had been an avid golfer.
On July 6, 2016 in Niles he married the former Jamie Lynn (White) Biggs, adding public vows to the wonderful relationship that had begun in 2009. He was preceded in death by his parents, Martha Fisher in 2000, and Paul Fisher in 2007; by his sister, Leann Christine Temple in 2020; and by Jamie’s father, Michael White in 2022.
Surviving family includes his wife, Jamie Fisher and children Lauren Biggs, Parker Fisher, and Jenson Fisher, all at home; Jamie’s mother, Sandy White of Niles; and Jamie’s siblings, Jodie (& Paul) Badman of Niles, and Jason White of Chicago, Illinois, and their children; Patrick’s aunt, Eleanor Fisher, and cousins, Cindy Fisher, Dave Fisher, and Barb (Hicks) Treash; and a great circle of wonderful friends and co-workers.
The family of Patrick Fisher is planning a ceremony at his graveside in Silverbrook Cemetery in Niles. Online condolences may be left at:
Patrick’s fifty-five years feel far too brief – especially to his wife and children – but he used those years well, as a faithful employee and productive member of his community, playing golf, cheering-on other athletes, and traveling to enjoy new places. All of those activities included people, fellow workers, golfers, and spectators; and most importantly, his children and Jamie.
