Pamela Jean Cantrell, age 56 years of South Bend, Indiana died at 3:00 a.m. on Monday, November 24, 2014 at the Hospice House in South Bend.

She was born on June 1, 1958 in Milwalkee, Wisconsin. She was a housekeeper in the South Bend area for many years.

Pamela enjoyed shopping, for movies, “Nike” brand items, among others, so much that her family considered her a “shopaholic.” She was known for being a hard worker; whether she was working in the yard, or caretaking. Pamela was a giving person. She loved her bunny “Sheeba”, but her greatest joy was spending time with and caring for her children and grandchildren.

Surviving family include her husband, Charles Cantrell, her children, Dawn (& Jay) Huffman of South Bend, Jamie (& Troy) Pawlak, of Niles, Beverly King, Natalie (& Santos) Lopez, and Amber (& Michael) Hughes, all of South Bend; her grandchildren Courtney, Samantha, Bradley, Boog, Haley, Shevin, Sara, Destiny, Damian, Britney, Korbin, Mariah, Alyssia, Cameron, Rayanna, Dontiese, Darren, Kolyn; great-grandsons, Dre’dynn and Boog, Jr.; mother Ilene Shireman, four brothers, two sisters, and many nieces and nephews.

She was preceded in death by her father Paul Poe, and a sister Susan Chapman.

Services for Pamela Cantrell will be at 2:00 p.m. on Friday, November 28, 2014 at the Halbritter Funeral Home in Niles with the Pastor Bob Vale of Osceola United Methodist Church in Osceola, Indiana, officiating. Committal will follow at Mission Hills Memorial Gardens in Niles.

The family will receive relatives and friends at the funeral home beginning at 1:00 p.m. on Friday. Contributions in memory of Pamela may be made to the Center for Hospice Care.
