Michelle Green

Michelle Angela “Mickey” Green, age 63 years of Niles, Michigan died at 10:23 a.m. on Friday, May 31, 2013 at Lakeland Regional Medical Center in Saint Joseph, Michigan following an illness.

She was born on January 9, 1950 in Niles to Frederick Eldon and Helen (Gardner) Green, Sr. She was employed at the Blossomland Learning Center for forty years, and has always lived in Niles.

Mickey was a loveable friend who enjoyed bowling, dancing, shopping, and handcrafts, especially needlepoint. She also enjoyed the fellowship of Luvability Ministries, and was an avid fan of the University of Notre Dame and the Chicago Cubs.

Surviving family includes brothers, Terrance A. Green of South Bend, Indiana and Joseph John Green of Henry, Virginia; sisters, Margaret Walker of Niles, Ellen Ann Mikowski of Bloomingdale, Illinois, and Della Elizabeth Cherven of Brookfield, Illinois; and many nieces and nephews.

She was preceded in death by her parents, and by brothers Fred E. Green, Jr. and James Green; sister, Mary Ramona Ernst, and nephew David N. Walker.

The Mass of Christian Burial for Michelle Green will be celebrated at 11:00 a.m. on Wednesday, June 5, 2013 at Saint Mary Catholic Church in Niles by the Rev. David Otto of the parish. Committal Rites will follow at Calvary Cemetery in Niles.

The family will receive relatives and friends at the church beginning at 10:00 a.m. on Wednesday. Contributions in memory of Michelle may be made to the Special Olympics Michigan, or to the Berrien County Civitan Club, or to Luvability Ministries.

Arrangements were made at the Halbritter Funeral Home in Niles.
