Michael Cheney

Michael Allen Cheney, 62 of Niles, Michigan, passed away peacefully at Ascension Borgess Kalamazoo on Saturday November 27 after a brief illness.
In 1979 he graduated with his GED from Niles. After graduating from school he married the love of his life, Kelly (True) Cheney.
Michael went on to work in the Weld Shop at Georgie Boy Manufacturing. He was the Line Leader at Forest River. Michael retired from Patrick Industries. Michael loved his family more than anything in the world.
He was preceded in death by his Paternal and Maternal Grandparents, his Mom and Dad, Father and Mother-in-laws, his sister Cora Lolmaugh, brother Patrick Cheney, Walt Cheney, brother-in-law Tim True, his son Brandon Harpole, sister Jeanie and great granddaughter Morgan.
Michael is survived by his wife Kelly of 42 years, Daughters; Courtney (Jacob) Cheney of Middleberry, Daughter Tiffany (Kevin Ortegel) Wolford of Dowagiac, Shelley (Cory) Yakim, Robin Freeman, Amanda (Tony) Dunnum, Daughter-in-law Amanda Harpole, Sisters; Cheryl (Rich) Noble and Debbie Rosetto. Grandkids; Jacob Jr and Alexis Base, Jaydin Base and Brendon Udell, Jonas Base, Paul Wolford, Sarah McCall, Desarae Landrum, A.J. and Kyle, Mikeala Freeman, Maddi Duval, Sarah Dunnem, Serena Tovey, Taylor Tovey, Michael Harpole, Elizabeth Harpole, Victoria Harpole, Mariska Harpole, Paige, Brooklyn, Keighly, Great Grandchildren; Jason, Atlas, Averie, Easton, Kamryn, Kolton, Piper, Carter and Elaina
Michael was the Pastor at God's Creation Sanctuary. A complete family man, he loved God, the church, his family, grandchildren and he loved people.
Michael also enjoyed the out of doors. He loved hunting and fishing. He loved to garden and had a greenhouse. Michael and Kelly gave away most of their harvest to anyone who needed some of their vegetables. Michael was loved by many and will be forever missed.
A Funeral Service will be held on Tuesday, December 7, 2021 at 4:00pm at Halbritter Wickens Funeral Home 615 E. Main St. Niles, with time to visit with the family at 3:00pm until the time of the service.
