Melisa ‘Lisa’ Hemphill, 58 of Niles, passed away in her residence on Friday, March 3, 2023.
Lisa was born on July 31, 1964 in Niles to Kenneth and Linda (McAbee) Grubbs.
She is preceded in death by her father, Kenneth Grubbs and Shane M. Grant, who she thought of as a son.
Lisa is survived by her Mother, Linda Grubbs of Niles, and brother Scott Grubbs of Alvaton, KY. She is also survived by her children; Courtney (Timothy) Stueber of Edwardsburg, Ashley (Matt) Knight of Niles, Jacob (Angel) Hemphill of Holiday, FL, grandchildren; Faith Stueber of Jackson,MI , Tahlon Stueber of Edwardsburg, Ella Knight of Niles, Gabby Knight of Niles, Sawyer Knight of Niles, Tate Stueber of Edwardsburg, Tanner Stueber of Edwardsburg and Emily Hemphill of Florida. Lisa is also survived by her niece, Alexandra Grubbs and her Uncle, Don McAbee of Edwardsburg and many other extended family members and friends.
Lisa worked at Trillium Staffing as a Staffing Coordinator for 5 years. Lisa was a creative person who loved crafts, sewing and even designing web pages and computer technology. She was fascinated with her family history and genealogy. She had the heart of an explorer who loved exploring the wilds of South Carolina and Florida. An accomplished photographer, Lisa used her creative skills to create scrapbooks. Her true passion was her family. Lisa unconditionally loved them and cherished the times she was with her children and grandchildren.
Visitation for Lisa will be on Thursday, March 9, 2023, at Halbritter Wickens Funeral Home, 615 E. Main St. Niles from 5:00pm to 7:00pm in the funeral home. The family is asking everyone to please dress in the bright colors that Lisa loved so much.
