Granger – Maxine Joy Haller, 82, passed away at 8:05pm on Wednesday, December 28, 2016 in Brookdale Senior Living.

Maxine was born on July 4, 1934, in Goodells, MI, to the late Carl F. and Hazel J. (Kitchen) Scheffler. On August 18, 1956, in Port Huron, MI, Maxine married Harold E. Haller who passed away on October 9, 2004.

Maxine is survived by her sons, Douglas E. (Chris) Haller of Niles, MI and Kenneth H. (Karen) Haller of Muncie, IN; her brother, Harold H. Scheffler of Canton, MI; and grandchildren, Gabrielle (Daniel) Holston, Zachary Haller, Victoria Haller, Gianna Haller, and Mikaela Haller.

Maxine is a graduate of Bethel College. Her major was Early Childhood Education which she used to bless generations of children and their families as a beloved preschool teacher. She retired to spend time with her family and serve in her church. Maxine was a member of Summit Church, and was previously was a pianist and organist at First Missionary Church.

Visitation will be from 5:00pm to 8:00pm on Friday, December 30, 2016 in HALBRITTER-WICKENS FUNERAL HOME 615 E. Main St., Niles. A Funeral Service will be celebrated at 9:30am on Saturday, December 31, 2016 in the Funeral Home. Burial will follow in Mission Hills Memorial Garden.
