Mary A. Zimmerman

Mary A. Zimmerman, 86 of Niles, passed away on Thursday, July 20, 2023 in Memorial Hospital, South Bend.

Mary was born on October 28, 1936 in McClelland, Arkansas to the late Ray and Tressie Tate.

She is preceded in death by her parents, her daughter Janet Groves and son, Jody Gaul and several brothers and sisters. She is also preceded by her husband, Harry Zimmerman and former husband, Arthur Gaul.

Mary is survived by her children; Anthony (Tanja) Gaul of Niles, David (Linda) Gaul of Niles, Timothy (Lorraine) Gaul of Vacaville, CA, step-children; Mike Zimmerman and Kim Zimmerman. Grandchildren; Tegan Gaul, Tara Chamberlin, Erica Gaul, Cody Gaul, Jesse Groves, Jake Groves, Jordan Gaul, Tyler Gaul, Arthur Gaul, Matt Gaul and 11 Great Grandchildren.  Mary is also survived by her brothers, Robert Tate of Buchanan, Tom Mills, John Mills, John Tate and her sister, Clara Ricker.

Mary was devoted to her family.  She deeply loved being able to talk with her grandchildren. Mary loved our Lord and Savior.  She was a dedicated Christian who often read the Bible and was passionate about her Christian faith. Mary enjoyed her flower garden.  She also enjoyed knitting and sewing. In her later years, Mary enjoyed short trips around town.

In keeping with Mary’s wishes, cremation has taken place.  A Celebration of Life will be held on Monday, July 24, 2023 at 6:00 pm at Front Street Pizza, 510 North Front Street, Niles.
