Marvin E. Hedstrom, age 89 years of Niles, Michigan died at 12:30 a.m. on Friday, January 25, 2013 at home following an extended illness.
He was born on November 7, 1923 in Michigan City, Indiana to Claus A. and Anna (Erickson) Hedstrom, He moved to Niles in 1928, coming from Michigan City. In 1982, after 38 years, Marvin retired from the National Standard Company.
Marvin was a member of Saint Paul’s Lutheran Church in Niles.
On April 24, 1953 in Niles he married the former Georgia Helen Wiars with whom he celebrated the forty-nineth anniversary of their wedding prior to her death on October 31, 2002. More recently he shared a special relations hip with Donna Farrell for 9 years.
Services for Marvin E. Hedstrom will be at 1:30 p.m. on Sunday, January 27, 2013 at the Halbritter Funeral Home in Niles with The Rev. Carl Bassett of Saint Paul’s Lutheran Church officiating. Interment will be at Mission Hills Memorial Gardens in Niles.
The family will receive relatives and friends beginning at 1:00 p.m. on Sunday at the funeral home.
