Marilyn Annette Barbour, 82, of Niles, died peacefully in the presence of her family, Thursday March 27, 2025. Her life began August 8, 1942 in South Bend, the third of four children born to Marshall and Goldie Ralston. She married Richard L. Barbour November 18,1972 in Osceola, Indiana.
Marilyn graduated from Niles High School in 1960. She later graduated from Bethel College in Mishawaka with two degrees. Marilyn proudly served in the United States Army during the Vietnam era. She was a member of the First Baptist Church of Niles for over twenty- five years. Marilyn loved comedy movies, watching the animals out the window and especially, going on trips with her children. Marilyn was a loving woman and wanted to tell everyone around, I love you, sometimes even singing it. Marilyn will be greatly missed by family and friends.
She is survived by two daughters, Abby (Rich) Baxter of Niles, Sheila (Greg) Cumberland of Tampa Florida; four sons, Donald Barbour of Niles, Jeff (Shannon) Barbour of Newburgh Indiana, Burton Barbour of Muskegon, Brett (Sarah) Barbour of Granger; eleven grandchildren; ten great- grandchildren; one sister, Lila Wallace of Niles; one brother, Edwin Ralston of Niles and a host of nieces and nephews.
She was preceded in death by her husband Richard L. Barbour, daughter, Michelle Thomas, sister, Annabel Williams; brother, Eugene Ralston, and her parents, Marshall and Goldie Ralston.
Family and friends will gather Thursday, April 17, 2025, 5:00 p.m. in the First Baptist Church 1446 East Main St. Niles, Michigan, with her service to follow at 6:00 p.m. She will be laid to rest in Mission Hills.
