Malcolm McLain, age 68 years of Niles, Michigan died on Monday, March 21, 2016 at the University of Chicago Hospital in Chicago, Illinois following a brief illness. He was born March 23, 1947 in Corinth, Mississippi to William and Reba (Crow) McLain.
Malcolm was a 1965 graduate of Lakeville High School, Valparaiso University and served in the United States Marine Corps. In 1979, Malcolm began working for the Bristol-Myers Squibb pharmaceutical company and then retiring at the age of 55. Malcolm enjoyed fishing and playing golf.
Surviving family includes wife Brenda McLain of Niles; a daughter, Gloria Tyler of Niles and two grandchildren, Tyler Shibinski and Haily Shibinski.
The funeral service for Malcolm McLain will be held at 1:00p.m. on Tuesday, March 29, 2016 at the Halbritter Funeral Home in Niles and will be officiated by Rev. Randy Pearman of Bethel Baptist Church, Niles. Interment will follow a Porter Rae Cemetery located in Potato Creek State Park, North Liberty, Indiana.
The family will receive relatives and friends at the funeral home on Tuesday from 11:00a.m. until the time of service. Donations in memory of Malcolm may be made to the American Cancer Society.
