Linda D Lewis

Linda Darlene Lewis, 70 of Niles, passed away in Riveridge Rehabilitation and Health Center on Wednesday, August 2, 2023.

Linda was born on August 1, 1953 in Niles to the late Earl and Betty Ann (Peterson) Griffis.

She is preceded in death by her parents and her son Jessie E. King III and her brother Larry Hillacre.

Those left to cherish Linda’s memory are her daughter-in-law, Annette King of Niles, daughter, Deborah King of Buchanan, step-son, Spencer King of Kalamazoo, grandchildren; Brandi Rohrer, Cathey Collins, Jacob Welling, Isaac King, Ethan Simrell, Brian Bosler, Jr., Katie Bosler and 5 Great Grandchildren. Linda is also survived by her best friend, Bill Walters of Niles.

Linda had been a CAN for Home Health Care for many years in the Berrien and Cass County area. She always felt that those she cared for were like her family. Linda was a long time active member of the 1^st Church of Christ-Christian in Niles. Linda enjoyed word search games.  She was a voracious reader who would read several novels a week.  She enjoyed going to the area fairs.  All who knew her were very much aware of her love of Elvis.  She would even follow several Elvis impersonators in the area, her favorite was Irv Cass. She was an amazing storyteller.  Linda also loved her cats and loved being a ‘Cat Mom’.

A memorial for Linda will be held on Tuesday, August 8, 2023 at 12:00 noon at 1^st Church of Christ-Christian 2240 Yankee St. Niles. A burial will follow in River side Cemetery in Dowagiac.
