Laura Ezell

Laura Suzanne (Jackson) Ezell was born July 5, 1968 in Flint, Michigan to LB and Denise (Veit) Jackson. Laura lived on Navy bases in Pensacola, FL and San Diego, CA as a young girl before residing in the Flint, MI area. A 1986 graduate of Lapeer West High School, Laura attended Mercy College of Detroit where she earned degrees in Legal Assisting and Legal Administration.

Laura married Tracy Lee Ezell in September of 1990, and they moved to southwest Lower Michigan, residing in St. Joseph, Niles, and Grand Rapids. Laura and Tracy have three children, Gabrielle (Joe) Schmidt of Fremont, MI, Christian (Gabrielle) Ezell of Westland, MI, and Jackson Ezell of Detroit, MI.

Laura utilized her talents to serve as Secretary for First Baptist Church of St. Joseph, Director of Christian Education for First Presbyterian Church of Niles, Administrator for Halbritter Funeral Home in Niles, and most recently Payroll Administrator for Allied Finishing in Grand Rapids.

Laura was an avid reader and movie enthusiast, with main interests in British aristocracy, the British Royal Family, and legal thrillers. She enjoyed spending the day on a beach and firework displays. Laura found peace and solace by being on the water, and just six weeks ago moved into a house on the Thornapple Lake. Most of all, she enjoyed being surrounded with family.

Laura is survived by her husband and three children; granddaughter Nylah Kay Schmidt; sisters Peggy (Jeff) Davis of Lapeer and Raeann (Scott) Smith of Flint; and many aunts, uncles, nieces, and nephews.

Laura was preceded in death by her mother and father.

Laura’s family will receive friends on Saturday November 17, 2018 at Brightside Church, 8175 Broadmoor Ave SE, Caledonia, MI from 10:00 AM until the time of Services at 11:00 AM with Pastor Greg Cooper officiating.
