Kenton “Ken” L. Fisher, 90, of Niles, Michigan died Monday, March 12, 2018, in St. Charles, Missouri following a brief illness.
Ken was born on August 17, 1927, in Niles to Clarence and Martha (Bachman) Fisher. He graduated from Niles High School in 1945, and lived in this area all of his life. Ken was employed by National Standard Company in Niles for most of his working career.
Ken enjoyed many activities including gardening, golfing, hunting and fishing and was a life-long Chicago White Sox fan. He was a member of the Elks and American Legion, and he proudly served in the United States Navy from which he was honorably discharged as a Veteran of World War II.
On June 26, 1953, in Buchanan, Michigan, he married the former Dorothy Cauffman, with whom he celebrated sixty-one years of marriage prior to her death on December 13, 2014. He was also preceded in death by his brother, Keith Fisher, of Niles.
Surviving family include two daughters, Marti (& Darrel) May of Saint Charles, Missouri and Kathy (& Denzel) Travis of Orland Park, Illinois; grandchildren Kenny (&Val) Vondersaar and Jake May; great-grandchildren Nathan, Lucas, and Claire.
The family will gather privately to honor his life and share memories
