Niles – Kenneth E. “Butch” Prenkert, 65, passed away at 9:24am on Saturday September 30, 2017 in Lakeland Medical Center, St. Joseph.
Butch was born on May 6, 1952 in Niles to the late Kenneth J. and Catherine L. (Rife) Prenkert. Butch was also preceded in death by his niece, Nicole (Egmer) Adams.
Butch is survived by his sisters, Annette (Carl) Wodrich, Rosemary Prenkert, and Louise Adams; his soulmate, Pam Jerue; her daughter, Destiny; and Pam’s grandson, Dante, the little boy who called Butch, “Grandpa.”
Butch honorably served his country in the US Army and was a member of the American Legion Post #51. He loved animals and spent many hours on his Sudoku puzzles. He enjoyed family get togethers. He was the designated driver at the Eagles for many years and was a member of the Moose Lodge. Butch survived two bouts with cancer. He will be missed by a lot of family and friends.
Visitation will be 9-11am on Friday, October 6, 2017 in HALBRITTER WICKENS FUNERAL HOME, 615 E. Main St., Niles, where a Funeral Service will begin at 11am. Burial will follow at Mission Hills Memorial Gardens and will conclude with the Full Military Honors by the American Legion Post #51 of Buchanan, MI.
