Kathleen Jones

Kathleen Marie Jones, 64 of Niles, passed away after a brief illness on Saturday February 4, 2023 in Vibra
Hospital in Merrillville, Indiana.
Kathleen was born on March 3, 1958 in Baltimore to Donald and Julia (Stemen) Hardy.
She is preceded in death by her father, Donald, her grandparents Paul and Mary Stemen, Herbert and
Esther Hardy, niece, Staci Harris, and her in-laws, Mary and Elmer Jones.
On October 7, 1995, she married Michael Jones at Sacred Heart of Mary Catholic Church In Dowagiac,
Mi.
Those left to cherish her memory are her mother, Julia Hardy of Dublin, Ga., her sister Anne (Willis)
Harris of Dublin, Ga., her brothers Richard Hardy of Covington, Ga., and Michael (Velinda) Hardy of
Canton, Ga. Nephews Christopher, Alex and William Harris. Her aunt, Sue Lamson of South Bend, IN.,
and her cousins James (Dawn) Lamson, Matthew Lamson and Mary (Toby) Lamson-Burke,in-laws Chris (Christine) Jones, Diane (Philip) Neville, Connie Jones, Greg Jones, Therese Hanion and numerous nieces and nephews and other extended family.


Kathleen graduated from Dublin High School In 1976 in Dublin, Ga. where she enjoyed playing clarinet in
the band for four years.
She worked for some time at The Cove, where she met her Michael. She also worked at Clancy’s
Inventory, K. B. Express as Mgr., and Charlie’s.
She loved to bake, enjoyed baking birthday cakes for friends and her banana pudding was frequently
requested at family gatherings. She also loved music..especially Mannheim Steamroller.
A Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated for Kathleen on Thursday, February 9, 2023 at St. Mary of
the Immaculate Conception Catholic Church 219 S. State St. in Niles at 11:00 am. The family will receive
visitors from 10:00am until the time of service at the church.
