Karen Lee Wilson-Cowles, age 46 years of Niles, Michigan died at 5:14 p.m. on Thursday, March 24, 2016 at Lakeland Hospital – Niles unexpectedly but of natural causes.
She was born on November 17, 1969 in Niles to Richard and Mary Jo (Goodman) Wilson. She attended Niles schools, and has lived here all of her life. She was employed at the former Post building of American Legion Post #26 in Niles.
Karen was a member of the Ladies Auxiliary of American Legion Post #26. She enjoyed crochet, watching television, and helping family, neighbors, and friends. Her greatest interest was her grandchildren.
She was formerly married to Marvin E. Wilson, Jr. She is preceded in death by her parents, and by a brother, Charles Grant Cowles.
Surviving family includes three daughters, Michelle C. Whittenburg of Goshen, Indiana, Christy Wilson of Berrien Springs, Michigan, and Rebecca Wilson of Niles; grandchildren Ryan Whittenburg and Keirstynn Whittenburg; and two brothers, Billy (& Ellen) Goodman of Niles and Clarence Frederick Cowles.
Services for Karen Wilson-Cowles will be at 2:00 p.m. on Saturday, April 2 at the Halbritter Funeral Home in Niles.
