Julia Elizabeth Miner, age 93, of Woodland Terrace at Longmeadow died on Wednesday, January 30, 2013 at Woodland Terrace at Longmeadow following an extended illness. She was born March 13, 1919 in Chicago, Illinois to Spencer Clark and Daisy Dean (Iddings) Miner.
Julia moved to Niles in 1932 with her family and graduated from Niles High School. She attained her Bachelors Degree in Journalism from the University of Illinois in 1949. Julia was a very talented painter and enjoyed traveling; especially with her sister for family visits.
Survivors include nephews Richard Miner of Rosamond, California, Phillip Miner of Layton, Utah and one niece; Judy Liebers of Limestone, Tennessee.
Julia was preceded in death by her sister Janet C. Miner, and four brothers; Samuel S. Miner, Edward B. Miner, Richard H. Miner and Robert W. Miner.
Funeral services for Julia Elizabeth Miner will be held at 3:30p.m. on Sunday, February 3, 2013 at Halbritter Funeral Home, Niles with Chaplain Barb Van Eck of Reverence Home Health and Hospice officiating. Burial will take place on Monday, February 4, 2013 at Atlanta Cemetery, Atlanta, Illinois at 1:00P.M., Eastern Standard Time.
The family will receive relatives and friends beginning at 2:00p.m. until the time of service on Sunday at the funeral home.
