Niles – John A. Quick, 95, passed away at 7:33pm on Wednesday, January 3, 2018 in West Woods of Niles.
John was born on January 6, 1922 in Clarendon, Arkansas to the late George and Cora (Abner) Quick. On May 21, 1948, John married Ella Mae (Bevills) and she passed away on November 5, 2015. John was also preceded in death by sisters, Dorothy Yeager and Erma Marie Meredith; and infant great-grandson, Kenneth James Butts.
John is survived by children, Janet (Jim) Martin, Joan (Fred) Hanselman, and Retired Lt. Col. John (Patti) Quick; grandchildren, Jerry (Stacy) Hanselman, Curt (Laura) Hanselman, Jamie (Louie) McGarvey, Laura (Rex) Butts, Caleb Quick, and Jacob (Annie) Quick; great-grandchildren, Jason, Abby, Nathan, Joshua, Caryn, Jared, Jackson, and Cady; and brother, Manual Quick.
John honorably served his country in the United States Navy during World War II. He was an elder and leader in the Niles Church of Christ where he also taught Sunday School and did Youth Ministry.
Funeral Service will be at 10:30am on Saturday, January 13, 2018 in HALBRITTER WICKENS FUNERAL HOME 615 E. Main St., where family and friends may gather beginning at 10am prior to the service. Burial will take place at Fort Custer National Cemetery.
