Joanne Exner

Joanne Marie Exner, age 61 years of Niles, Michigan died unexpectedly on Friday, April 7, 2017 at her home.
She was born on November 7, 1955 in Niles to Gerald C. and Anne V. (Sarratore) Exner. She was graduated from Niles High School, and has lived in Niles all of her life. She was first employed at the former Bonanza Steakhouse in Niles, and then was employed for many years at the former Niles location of the G.L. Perry Discount Variety Store. For the past several years she has worked in security for the National-Standard Corporation.
Joanne was an avid reader of paperback books. She had enjoyed completing several different themes of collectable items, and always had pet companions at home.
She was preceded in death by her father, Gerald Exner on November 16, 1963, her mother, Anne V. Swaim on August 22, 1986, her step-father, Robert G. Swaim on June 7, 1998, and by her sister, Carol several years ago.
She is survived by several nieces, nephews, cousins, and a wonderful circle of co-workers and friends.
