Jill Mari Garmire

Jill Mari Garmire,77, of Buchanan, died peacefully Saturday, April 12, 2025. Her life began February 19, 1948 in Circleville, Ohio the second of three children born to John and Minnie Steinhauser. 

Jill invested her time volunteering at the Buchanan senior center in their community garden and at Trinity Episcopal Church. Jill could often be found watching the food network. She was known for her baking, particularly pies. Jill loved being with her family on holidays, making home-made stuffing for Thanksgiving and making them pizza for Christmas. She enjoyed gardening for many years, growing vegetables for her meals. Jill took delight in going on gambling trips both alone and with friends. Jill will be greatly missed by family and friends.

She is survived by one son, John Carl Garmire of Buchanan; two grandchildren, Jaymi Fuller of Buchanan, Colin Garmire of Buchanan; three great grandchildren, Audrey Hunt, Lorahlyn Albright, Yance Albright; one sister, Jonda (Randy) Baney of Westerville, Ohio; one niece and one nephew. She was preceded in death by her parents; one sister; and her husband, Jeffrey Garmire.

Family and friends will gather for her service Friday, May 2, 2025, 3:00p.m. in Trinity Episcopal Church 9 South Fourth Street, Niles.

The family prefers contributions in memory of Jill be made to Humane Society of Southwest Michigan 5400 South Niles Road, St. Joseph Michigan.
