Jethro Durham

Jethro David Durham, infant son of Chandler Durham and Raven Barkmann entered this world at home on Tuesday morning, February 27, 2024, altogether too early to survive.  His family is grateful for the efforts of the first responders and the staff at Corewell Health Lakeland Hospital – Niles.

He was born on Tuesday, February 27, 2024 in Dowagiac, Michigan to Chandler Anthony Durham and Raven Starr Barkmann.  During the sixteen weeks leading-up to his birth, “Jet” was quite active, “a little mover in there”, and in the few moments following his birth, he clearly bore his father’s face – a tiny twin.

Going before Jet – and waiting to meet him – was a brother, Kingston Xavier James Barkmann on November 15, 2017; a grandmother, Sirenna Marie Konkey – just nine weeks ago - on December 27, 2023, a grandfather, Michael Anthony Durham on May 14, 2017, and a great-grandfather, LeRoy Barkmann on January 24, 2017.

Jet is survived by his parents, Raven and Chad; by his brother, Jameson; by a grandfather, Rodney Barkmann of Niles, and a grandmother, Allison Ward of Edwardsburg; great-grandparents, Starr Barkmann of Niles, Norma Hess of Largo, Florida, and Fred Stockbarger of Port Charlotte, Florida; great-great-grandparents, Dave and Fern Konkey of Niles; and God-parents Shiva Collinsworth and Daniel Osban, both of Edwardsburg.

Jet’s brief life had already brought joy and love to those closest to him, and brought the wonder and awe about new life to everybody from his 3-year-old brother to his great-great-grandparents.  The celebration of his life will continue as his parents remember Jet every day, and celebrate him on every February 27^th.
