Jerilyn Ann Taylor, age 71 of Niles, Michigan died at 3:35 p.m. on Friday, April 5, 2013 at Lakeland Community Hospital in Niles following a brief illness.
She was born on December 4, 1941 in Niles to Russell and Mavis (Vernier) Wages. She was graduated from Niles High School, and attended the Vogue Beauty School. She has lived in Niles all of her life.
Jerilyn was a member of the Loyal Order of the Moose Lodge #449 in Buchanan, Michigan. She enjoyed camping with her family in Michigan and Indiana. Her greatest joy was caring for her grandchildren and her nieces and nephews.
On October 29, 1960 in Niles she married Raymond L. Taylor with whom she celebrated last year the fifty-second anniversary of their wedding.
Surviving family includes her husband, Raymond and their children, Rod (& Sue) Taylor of Buchanan and Renee (& Bob Hutton) Taylor of Niles; grandchildren Todd (& Breely) Taylor, Tony (& Keeley) Taylor, Chaz (& Zoie) Ritchie, Shelby (& Jay) Hutton, and Robert Hutton; great-grandchildren Adison, Haden, Isabella, and Natalie; and Jerilyn’s sisters, Deb (& Rodger) Hoese of Niles and Cindy (& Jim) Welch of The Villages, Florida, and several nieces and nephews.
She was preceded in death by a seventeen-year-old son, Raymond "Little Ray" Taylor in 1979, and by her father, Russell Wages in 1990.
The funeral service for Jerilyn Taylor will be at 10:00 a.m. on Wednesday, April 10, 2013 in the Mausoleum Chapel at Mission Hills Memorial Gardens with Mr. Glen Hoese of Niles, Michigan officiating. Interment will follow at Mission Hills.
The family will receive relatives and friends on Tuesday from 5:00 until 8:00 p.m. at the Halbritter Funeral Home in Niles. Contributions in memory of Jerilyn may be made to Hospice at Home.
