Jeffrey C. Carr, age 51 years of Niles, Michigan died Monday morning, October 13, 2014 at his home, unexpectedly but of natural causes.
He was born on June 22, 1963 in South Bend, Indiana to Charles and Sharon (Moffett) Carr. He was graduated from South Bend Riley High School, and has lived in Niles since 1995. He was employed for eleven years at A. M. General in Mishawaka, and then for many years at the Niles plant of the Kenan Advantage Group.
Jeff was a member of Saint Mark Catholic Church in Niles. He enjoyed cars and as a young man had participated at the Osceola (Indiana) Dragway, racing both motorcycles and a Chevrolet Vega. He currently had another Vega to rebuild. He also enjoyed collecting Zippo lighters and Casio wristwatches, and fishing.
On July 16, 1994 at Saint Mark Catholic Church he married the former Patricia J. Jackowiak with whom he celebrated last July the twentieth anniversary of their wedding.
Surviving family includes his wife, Patty Carr and their son, Joshua J. Carr; Jeffs mother, Sharon Carr Eaton (& James) of South Bend and father, Charles Chuck (& Julie) Carr of Mishawaka; Jeffs brother, Doug Carr of South Bend; Pattys sisters, Mary Jane Rudlaff of Berrien Springs, Michigan, Judy Ann Thrash of Golden Valley, Arizona, and Janice Hess of Buchanan, Michigan; an aunt, Marilyn Smith and uncle, Rick Moffett, and several nieces, nephews, and cousins.
The Mass of Christian Burial for Jeffrey Carr will be celebrated at 11:00 a.m. on Friday, October 17, 2014 at Saint Mark Catholic Church by The Rev. Thomas King, C.S.C. of the parish assisted by Brother Dennis Meyers, C.S.C.
The family will receive relatives and friends on Thursday from 6:00 until 8:00 p.m. at the Halbritter Funeral Home in Niles.
