Jean Marie Griesinger, age 58 years of Niles, Michigan died peacefully at home with her family gathered around her bedside at 7:40 p.m. on Friday, July 15, 2016 following a courageous battle against cancer.
She was born on November 21, 1957 in South Bend, Indiana to Ronald L. and Mary Jo (Manhart) Griesinger. She was graduated from Brandywine High School, and has lived here all of her life. She was employed in the offices of Scope Services, Inc. of Saint Joseph, Michigan.
Jean Marie was a member of Saint Mary Catholic Church. Her greatest interest and joy in life were her children, and “the grandbabies”.
Surviving family includes her children, Nick (& Amber) Perkins of Slocomb, Alabama and Amy (& Brandon) Krisher of Niles; grandchildren Ian Perkins, Emmalee Perkins, Logan Krisher, and Lydia Krisher; Jean Marie’s parents, Ronald L. & Mary Jo Griesinger of Niles; and Jean Marie’s siblings, Ronald F. (& Cheri) Griesinger of Saint Joseph, Michigan, John (& Traci) Griesinger of Niles, and Kathleen (& Rick) Dyer of New Carlisle, Indiana and many nieces and nephews.
She was preceded in death by a grandson, O’Ryan Perkins, and an infant sister, Theresa Griesinger.
The Catholic Funeral Liturgy for Jean Marie Griesinger will be read at Noon on Wednesday, July 20, 2016 at the Halbritter Funeral Home in Niles by Deacon Roger Gregorski of Saint Mary Catholic Church.
The family will receive relatives and friends from 6:00 until 8:00 p.m. on Tuesday at the funeral home. Contributions in memory of Jean Marie may be made to the American Cancer Society; or to Hospice at Home.
