Janite Lee Ernsberger, age 77 years of Niles, Michigan died surrounded by her family at 11:27 a.m. on Monday, September 8, 2014 at her home on Barron Lake.
She was born on August 4, 1937 in Truman, Arkansas to Frank and Carmen (Sutfin) Lenox. She was graduated from Niles High School, and has lived in Niles most of her life.
Janet enjoyed mushroom hunting, gambling, and traveling. She also enjoyed games at home with her family, and her greatest interest was following the events of her children, grandchildren, and great-grandchildren.
On March 30, 1957 in Niles she married Donald W. Ernsberger with whom she celebrated the thirty-ninth anniversary of their wedding prior to his death on April 2, 1996. She was also preceded in death by a sister, Waiva Krask, and brothers, Dale Lenox and Franklin Elzie Lenox.
Surviving family includes her children, Toby (& Brenda) Ernsberger of Galien, Michigan, Todd Ernsberger of Niles, Terese Teri Ernsberger of Niles; grandchildren, Toby D. (& Danielle) Ernsberger, Jr., Tracy (& JD) Cowles, Troy (& Audrey) Ernsberger, Brian (& Nicole) Watson, Trevor Ernsberger, Keith Webber, Maggie (& Chad) McPhearson, Zachary Webber, and Amelia Ernsberger; great-grandchildren Justin and Abby Cowles, Carter, Carmen, Carson, and Carwin Ernsberger, and Madison Watson; and Janets brother Robert (& Paula) Lenox of Cassopolis, Michigan, sisters-in-law Linda (Mrs. Elzie) Lenox of Niles, and Evelyn (& Lazell) Davis of Niles; and many nieces and nephews.
A sharing of memories honoring Janet Ernsberger will be held on Sunday, September 21, 2014 beginning at 1:00 p.m. at the Bell Professional Building, 305 North Third Street in Niles (please enter the parking lot at Fourth and Sycamore).
