Helen Ness

Helen Madge Ness, 89 of Niles passed away on Tuesday, November 2, 2021 at the Chalet of Niles.

Helen was born on January 11, 1932 in La Crosse, Wisconsin.

On May 26, 1951 she married Merril W. Ness, who preceded her in death after 69 years of marriage.

She is survived by her children Martin Andrew Ness of Niles and Melinda Ness of Chicago IL., and grandson Zoran Strong; Helen regarded Chandra Thomas of Niles as her daughter and Robin Salzer; special friends Dianna Salzer-Marschke, and Rosalie Marschke. She is also survived by her brother Paul Druschke and niece Darre.

Helen was dedicated to her family. She loved camping with her children and spending time outside. In her spare time, she and Merril rock hunted together. She also spent time reading, coloring, and crocheting.

Helen loved the railroad and marveled at trains. She enjoyed model railroads of many sorts.

At the Chalet of Niles, Helen was the Resident Council President.

In keeping with Helen’s wishes, cremation has taken place. Arrangements have been made at Halbritter Wickens Funeral Services 615 E. Main St. Niles.
