Helen Mae Clubb, age 91, of West Woods of Niles died on Friday, November 9, 2012 at West Woods of Niles following an extended illness. She was born November 27, 1920 in New Troy, Michigan to Pete & Alice (Conant) Ritchie.
Helen was a graduate of New Troy High School and retired from Bendix Corporation. She was a member of the Niles First Church of Christ and was a member and volunteer with the American Legion Auxiliary in Niles. She enjoyed playing darts, shooting pool, golfing, bowling, shuffleboard, crochet and loved to fish. She cherished going to all of her children and grandchildren’s sporting events and earned the nickname, “Grandma’s Taxi.”
Helen was married to Ben F. Callahan who preceded her in death. She then married Ralph Clubb, he also preceded her in death.
She is survived by daughters Betty (Robert) Lloyd of Niles and Janet Craw of Buchanan, 8 grandchildren; Chris (Jerry, Sr.) Marlin, Pepper Lloyd-Carter, Steve Horner, Robert (Cynthia) Craw, Daniel (Sherry) Craw, Duane (Dawne) Craw, Vicki (Roger) Stouder and Sandy (James) Scott. Also surviving are 32 great-grandchildren, 4 great-great grandchildren and a niece.
She was preceded in death by brother Lloyd Ritchie and son-in-law David Craw.
Funeral services for Helen Mae Clubb will begin at 10:30a.m. on Tuesday, November 13, 2012 at Halbritter Funeral Home, Niles. Interment will follow at Oak Ridge Cemetery.
The family will receive relatives and friends one hour prior to services at the funeral home.
Donations in memory of Helen may be made to the Alzheimer's Association.
