Gerald Ray "Bill" Brant

Niles, Michigan

Gerald Ray “Bill” Brant, 85, of Niles, died peacefully Saturday February 8, 2025, in the comfort of his family’s presence.

His life began October 9, 1939, in Eau Claire, Michigan, the third of seven children born to Kenneth and Dora Brant. He married Florence Edna Burnett June 12, 1963, in Niles, Michigan. After forty years of marriage, she preceded him in death in 2003. 

Gerald will be greatly missed by family and friends. He is survived by daughters, Doree Pettie of Niles, Kim (Scott) Rodenhiser of Osceola, Indiana; sons, Scott Brant of Niles, Kenny Brant of Buchanan; eight grandchildren; twenty-four great grandchildren; sister, Dorothy Coward-Libey of Niles; brother, Jack Duane Brant of Land O’ Lakes, Florida; and a host of nieces and nephews.

He was preceded in death by his parents; his beloved wife; two granddaughters, Misty Dawn and Laura Anne Brant; sister, Kathy Kiggins; brothers, Robert Brant, Bud Brant, Johnny Brant; and son-in-law, Terry Pettie. 

Family and friends will gather to celebrate Bill’s life Sunday, February 16, 2025, from 1:00 pm until 4:00 pm in the Edwardsburg American Legion Post 365, 25751 US 12, Edwardsburg, Michigan 49112.
