Gary Lee Parker, age 75 of Dowagiac, Michigan died on Friday, May 3, 2013 at Lakeland Regional Medical Center, Saint Joseph, Michigan following an extended illness. He was born April 15, 1938 in Three Rivers, Michigan to Glenn & Evelyn (Hyde) Parker.
Gary graduated from Niles High School in 1957. He was a United States Marines Veteran. He was employed by National Standard Company in Niles, retiring after several years of service. He was Chief of the Pokagon Volunteer Fire Department for 25 years.
On December 9, 1967 in Niles he married the former Mary True, who survives along with three sons; Donald (& Jaye) Raabe of Niles, Dennis (& fiancée Linda) Raabe and Ricky Parker, all of Dowagiac, 5 grandchildren; Jessica, Jason, Jennifer, Erica and Jayme, 8 great-grandchildren and one brother; Charles (& Nancy) Parker of Jasonville, Indiana.
Funeral services for Gary Lee Parker will be held at 2:00p.m. on Monday, May 6, 2013 at Halbritter Funeral Home with Rev. Michael Cheney of Niles, officiating. Interment will follow at Mission Hills Memorial Gardens.
The family will receive relative and friends from noon until the time of service on Monday at the funeral home.
