Eulalia Joo-Wetmore, 88, of Niles passed away on Monday, June 7, 2021 in Woodland Terrace of Longmeadow.
Lala, was born on October 29, 1932 in Niles to the late Joseph A and Mary M. (Farrell) Wetmore.
She is preceded in death by her parents as well as her 14 brothers and sisters; Sister Margaret Wetmore S.S.J., Mary Chapman, Patricia Growth, Michael Wetmore, Anna Finch, Catherine Herrmann, Raymond, Francis, William, Edward, Albert and David Wetmore and her son Kenneth Shelby.
On June 14, 2008 Lala married Frank Joo who passed away on July 27, 2017.
Lala is survived by her children; James Shelby of AR, Madeline Shelby of South Bend, Barbara Shelby of South Bend, Joan (Dale) Norman of Cassopolis, and Jean (John) Charron of N.C. She is also survived by her 13 grandchildren and numerous great grandchildren.
Lala was a life long resident of Niles. She graduated from Niles High School class of 1950. She will be forever remembered as an accomplished organist who played in several of the Niles area churches. In addition to the organ, she also played the piano and guitar. She enjoyed woodworking and making yard signs and had several gardens that she tended. Lala also enjoyed ceramics. She was a Notre Dame fan and enjoyed watching their games.
Visitation for Lala will be on Friday, June 11 from 6:00pm to 8:00 pm with a rosary being prayed at 7:00pm, and on Saturday, June 12 from 10:00am to 11:00am, both at Halbritter Wickens Funeral Home 615 E. Main St. A funeral liturgy will be prayed on Saturday, June 12 at 11:00 am at the funeral home.
