Ethan Charles Sears, two year old son of Melissa and the late Kenneth Sears of Osceola, Indiana died unexpectedly at 12:58 p.m. on Thursday, June 27, 2013 at Memorial Hospital in South Bend, Indiana.
He was born on May 12, 2011 in South Bend to Kenneth James and Melissa Faye (Ringle) Sears. He lived in Niles, Michigan until September of 2011 when he moved to Osceola.
Ethan was a happy child, enjoying playing with his ‘choo-choos’ especially Thomas the Tank Engine and friends. He also enjoyed playing with his brothers, always outdoors, but his greatest joy was being with mom.
Ethan’s dad, Ken died last September 21. He was also preceded in death by Melissa’s father, Michael Ringle, Sr. and Melissa’s brother, Troy Reasonover.
Surviving family includes his mom, Melissa Sears and brothers, Lucas Sears and Landon Sears; grandparents Nancy & Mike Sears of Niles, and Beth & John Reasonover of South Bend; great-grandparents Judy Johnson of Mishawaka and Tony Layne of Lansing, Kentucky; and by aunts and uncles, Justin Davis, Jason Davis, Michael Ringle, Trevor (Troy’s twin) Reasonover, Kyle Sears, Kim Davis, Amanda Reasonover Wade, and Kristen Reasonover; and several cousins and great-aunts and uncles.
The funeral service for Ethan Sears will be at 1:30 p.m. on Tuesday, July 2, 2013 at the First Church of Christ-Christian in Niles with Pastor Stan Dudka of Voice Ministries in Elkhart, Indiana officiating. Committal services will follow at Silverbrook Cemetery in Niles.
The family will receive relatives and friends at the church beginning at 12:30 p.m. on Tuesday. Contributions in memory of Ethan being collected by the Voice Ministries, 240 Concord Mall Drive, Elkhart, IN 46517. Arrangements were made at the Halbritter Funeral Home in Niles.
