Erma Lloyd

Erma June Lloyd, age 77 years of Hickory, North Carolina and formerly of Niles, Michigan died on Monday, October 14, 2013 in Hickory following an extended illness.

She was born on September 17, 1936 in Plymouth, Indiana to Willis and Esther (Burcham) Haun. She attended school in Lansing, Michigan and Dowagiac, Michigan and lived much of her life in Niles before moving to North Carolina in 2010. In Niles, she was employed for twenty-nine years at the former Niles plant of Simplicity Pattern Company.

Erma professed her Christian faith through the Seventh-day Adventist Church. She enjoyed traveling, and had visited most of the United States, and found special pleasure in driving. She also enjoyed practicing crochet.

On April 24, 1965 in Niles she married Charles Robert “Bob” Lloyd who preceded her in death on March 3, 1986. She was also preceded in death by three brothers, Jack Haun, Earl Haun, and Charles Haun who died in infancy.

Surviving family includes her children, James (& Pat) Yeager of South Bend, Indiana and Rose (& Billy) Crowder of Taylorsville, North Carolina; grandchildren Julio Yeager, Angela (& Ricky) Williams, Michael (& Bambi) Arellanes, Ronnie Yeager, James Yeager II, and Charles Yeager; seventeen great-granchildren; a brother, Leo Haun of Niles and several nieces and nephews.

The family of Erma Lloyd will receive relatives and friends from 1:00 p.m. until 3:00 p.m. on Thursday, July 3, 2014 at the Halbritter Funeral Home in Niles. Interment will be in the Allen (Red Mill) Cemetery in Silver Creek Township. Contributions in memory of Erma may be made to the PDK Foundation to find a cure for Polycystic Kidney Disease.
