Emeret Behrens

Emeret L. Behrens, age 94 of Niles, Michigan died on Sunday, October 26, 2014 at Silverbrook Manor, Niles. She was born February 14, 1920 in Niles to Henry R. and Ada G. (Grice) Smith.

Emeret worked for the Garner Drug store, then for Dick Camp’s Drug Store and also for Simplicity Pattern Company in Niles.

On June 1, 1957 in Niles, Emeret married Charles W. Behrens, he preceded her in death on September 27, 1987. She was also preceded in death by her brothers, George Smith, Charles Smith and Claude Smith.

Surviving family includes a great-niece, Karen Houck of Niles and a great-nephew, Tim Simpson of South Bend.

Graveside services for Emeret L. Behrens will be held at 2:00p.m. Friday, October 31, 2014 at Silverbrook Cemetery in Niles with Rev. Randy Pearman of Bethel Baptist Church, Niles, officiating.

Donations in memory of Emeret may be made to the local humane society of choice.
