Ella Rodgers

Ella Irene Rodgers, age 94 years of Niles, Michigan died on Monday, August 1, 2016 at Riveridge Manor in Niles. She was born October 24, 1921 in Niles to John Joseph and Mary Erma Dobrotka.



Ella worked for Simplicity Pattern Company for over 45 years, retiring in 1986. She was a member of Saint Mark Catholic Church in Niles and of the Saint Mark Women’s Society.



In October of 1947, Ella married Nelson Joseph Rodgers, who preceded her in death on January 2, 1980. She is also preceded in death by her brother, Edward John Dobrotka.



Surviving family includes sister-in-law, Kathleen (& John) Shepler and brother-in-law Thomas (& Glenna) Rodgers, all of Niles and several nieces and nephews.



The Mass of Christian Burial for Ella Irene Rodgers will be celebrated at 11:00a.m. on Tuesday, August 9, 2016 at Saint Mark Catholic Church, Niles, by The Rev. Thomas King, C.S.C. of the church, assisted by Brother Dennis Meyers, C.S.C. Committal Rites will follow at Calvary Cemetery, Niles.
